History of Logan & Logan Woodstock Virginia Shenandoah Attorney Lawyer

Since 1932.

William H. Logan Sr. began his law practice in Woodstock, Virginia, in 1932 after attending the School of Law at UVA.  He remained in private practice, serving the needs of the community and representing various local governments as well as prosecuting Shenandoah County's criminal matters as an elected Commonwealth's Attorney.  He was later joined by his son, William H. Logan Jr. upon his graduation from T. C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 1973.  Father and son practiced together at 134 West Court Street as Logan & Logan until the passing of William H. Logan Sr. in 1986, with William H. Logan Jr. also serving as Commonwealth's Attorney of Shenandoah County during that period.

William H. Logan Jr. continued to practice until he was appointed by Virginia's General Assembly to serve as a Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Judge on July 1, 1999.  After sixteen years on the bench he retired in 2015.

His son, Chad Logan, graduated from the School of Law at UVA in 2010 and after a brief stint as a private attorney worked for Marsha Garst at the Harrisonburg City and Rockingham County Commonwealth's Attorney's office for six years as an assistant prosecutor.

Chad met Rachel while they were students at the University of Virginia, where she received an undergraduate degree as well as a Master in Education.   Upon her graduation from UVA she attended the T. C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond, graduating in 2013.  Rachel worked in private practice in Harrisonburg for three years, representing clients in a range of civil disputes and education-related issues.  In 2016 Rachel began working part time as a prosecutor for Page County, and currently handles cases in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court when she isn't working with Logan & Logan.

In May of 2017 Chad and Rachel re-opened Logan & Logan, with William H. Logan Jr. serving in an advisory capacity.  We are excited to continue the long family tradition of serving the legal needs of our community.
